What was the situation?
A fast-growing direct-to-consumer brand was scaling quickly. Its finance function had grown with it, but processes, controls and systems had not kept pace. With investor interest rising, the founders needed books, controls and reporting that would stand up to scrutiny.
What did we do?
- Offshore finance operations: ran day-to-day accounting and the month-end close, so the books were current and reconciled.
- Governance and risk: designed and documented internal controls around order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and inventory.
- Technology: implemented a Zoho ERP stack (Zoho Books, Zoho Spend including Zoho Expense, Zoho People and Zoho Payroll) so the controls ran inside the system.
- CFO and tax advisory: advised on tax positions and kept finance ready for due diligence.
What was the result?
The business went into its acquisition with clean books, documented controls and a working ERP. The acquisition was one of the most significant exits in the Indian health and wellness startup ecosystem.
